We, Hesse Metalltechnik GmbH, 59505 Bad Sassendorf (NRW), are a family business with tradition and have been active in the field of agricultural mechanical engineering and industrial production since our founding year 1837.

1873:

Son Friedrich Wilhelm Grote takes over his father’s business

1893:

Josef Steimann (son-in-law of F.-W. Grote) takes over the company under the name “Steimann

1926:

Franz Sommer (son-in-law of J. Steimann) continues the business under the name “Sommer Lohne”

1960:

Franz Josef Sommer continues his father’s business

1996:

Master metalworker Markus Hesse takes over the company with three employees and operates under the name “Sommer Landtechnik GmbH”.

2002:

Change of name from “Sommer Landtechnik GmbH” to the present “Hesse Metalltechnik GmbH”

2006:

Introduction of the “Hesse Anbaugeräte” brand

2016:

Markus Hesse invents the pusher shovel “Smart Push” and applies for a worldwide patent

2017:

Hesse sells the worldwide patent to Claas, Harsewinkel, but remains licensee
